Villalobos Brothers in Saratoga
There’s nothing like a family band to deliver musical magic, and the Villalobos Brothers have it in spades. Born and raised near the port city of Veracruz, Mexico, the trio honed their unique blend of Mexican folk, jazz and classical music early in life by playing gigs in the region’s many coastal restaurants. They are noted for their use of thin-bodied guitars called jaranas and their rapid, percussive violin style. These virtuosos have performed with everyone from Dolly Parton to Ana Tijoux. The album Fandango at the Wall, which featured the Villalobos Brothers, won Best Latin Jazz Album in 2022.
