A rash of shoplifting and burglaries at the same retail chain in several different metro locations has law enforcement looking for suspects.According to Belton Police Sergeant Mary Bruegge, there have been 30 different shoplifting incidents at the Ulta Beauty store’s Belton location in the last year.Pictures of three women suspects from a July 27 incident are posted on the Belton Police Department’s Facebook page.According to the post, the thieves quickly entered the store, grabbed handheld shopping baskets, loaded them with makeup and fragrance, then quickly exited the store.The stolen merchandise has an estimated value of $7000.According to Sergeant Bruegge, less than two hours earlier on the same day, the same three women also stole items from the Ulta store in Liberty.On the other side of the state line, a couple of doors are boarded up at the Ulta store in Overland Park.Overland Park Police detectives say recently, a man and a woman threw a rock through the glass doors and stole items.“I think it's very scary. I mean, I thought they were just getting new doors and new glass or something,” said Paula Jackson, a store customer.Those two suspects were caught, but two women who brazenly walked into the store March 5 right around noon and stole an estimated $1600 worth of merchandise haven’t been caught.Most recently, early Monday morning, three people threw a brick through the window at the Ulta store in Lawrence and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise.Lawrence Police Detectives believe that burglary may be related to other similar incidents in the Metro Kansas City area.Ulta spokeswoman Eileen Ziesemer said shoplifting and burglaries are common throughout retail and organized retail crime is growing across the country.She said the company is working with law enforcement to keep store guests and associates safe at the 1350 Ulta stores nationwide.Ziesemer also said it’s a “high priority” to tackle the theft problem and Ulta is working with other retailers to do it.“It's pretty disappointing to know that there's people out there that think it's okay to just break into businesses and steal rather than go out and make their hard-earned money to go in and purchase the items,” said Kylei Lyon, an Ulta Overland Park customer.Belton Police investigators say the three women suspects from the July incident were last seen leaving the store in a dark-colored, possibly dark green four-door Honda.Anyone with information about them is asked to call Belton Police Detective Richardson at (816)348-4429.
