Fuzzy's Pizza owner said thieves broke in, stole donations meant for kids with cancer

"They can see their pictures, they can't see this is to help kids?" owner Jimmy Hajjar said.

BELLAIRE, Texas — A longtime Bellaire pizza shop owner said he's frustrated that thieves keep targetting his restaurant.

Fuzzy's Pizza Owner Jimmy Hajjar said burglars have broken in twice within the past week. Both times, they broke in early in the morning and took cash, even donations intended for children with cancer.

For four decades, Hajjar has been serving up slices to Houstonians. He said the break-ins were both caught on camera.

"The situation is scary, who are they?" he said. "They came back again the week after? What are they going to do to me after that?"

All-in-all, Hajjar said the thieves took several thousand dollars and caused damage to their walls, doors and sales system.

“People dangerous like them make me worry, make me, like, think twice,” he said.

Worst of all, Hajjar said the thieves emptied out a jar full of donations meant for kids with cancer.

"They can see their pictures, they can't see this is to help kids?" he said.

While he still worries about his safety, he's mostly hopeful that people will help fill the donation jar back up for the kids he said didn't deserve this.

“They can see this is to help kids, what kind of people are they?" he said.

The Bellaire Police Department asks that if you have any information about these incidents, call them at 713-668-0487. They said right now, they don't have any reason to believe the two break-ins are related.
