Funnel Cloud Sited Well E. of Belfry

This funnel cloud was sited Thursday afternoon, June 1, well east of Belfry.

A lot of rain is forcast this week. Meteorologist Michael Richmond, of Red Lodge was out hiking and noticed a far away funnel cloud. About a half hour ago, Richmond said, "Real weather coming in now, strong storms, heavy rain. Saw this funnel cloud at 1405 hours to the east, notified NWS Billings. They said it was near the WY border on radar, south of Belfry, not appearing real strong. Lots of lightning already here at home now. We are under a flood watch here, I hope we don't lose anything next few days that has been rebuilt, along Rock Creek, or in our trail systems." He said the funnel had a "weak radar signature, thank goodness." Keep alert out there and tune in to local weather reports.
