Niema's West African and Caribbean Cuisine opens on Texas Street
The lights were on, and the music was popping on top of the Robinson Film Center. It was the opening celebration, with three days of events, at Niema's West African and Caribbean Cuisine. “This opening felt like a celebration of everything we’ve poured into this journey and everyone who helped us get here,” said owner and Chef Niema DiGrazia. DiGrazia began selling her food at the farmers market, then owned her own food truck, and ran a café inside Sunshine. Now she and her husband, Chef Matthew DiGrazia, have their own restaurant on Texas Street. DiGrazia has seen her dream become a reality. “Every chapter took faith, sacrifice, and hard work,” she said.
