The Teacher Donut Delivery brigade of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors was on the road to Beckville ISD on Aug. 3.

They were welcoming teachers and staffers of the school district back to campus for the kick-off of the 2022-2023 school year, according to Keri Perot-Vance, executive director of the chamber. Their effort began Monday at Gary ISD, with a stop Tuesday at Panola Charter School. This past Thursday, the ambassadors spread some yummy sweetness early in the morning at Northside Christian Academy before wrapping up a stop on Aug. 8 at Carthage ISD.

By the time the effort is completed, Perot-Vance expects about 600 doughnuts, or 50 dozen, to have been delivered to Panola County educators and support staff. Beckville ISD Superintendent Devin Tate on Wednesday said the annual effort is appreciated.

“We appreciate the chamber for coming out this morning to help us out with breakfast and fellowship,” Tate said. “They’re so kind to this for us every year, it kind of starts us with fun to get together and visit.”

Perot-Vance said the doughnut delivery and serving service is a way to thank those on the front lines of educating Panola County’s students.

“We’re so thankful for all you do for Panola County’s youth,” she said. “Have a wonderful 2022-2023 year and let us know if there’s anything we can do to help you.”
