DNR officer report April 18
District 10 - Mille Lacs area - CO Victoria Griffith (Isle) patrolled area angling, trapping, and ATV riding activity. Many people were out enjoying the warm weekend weather. Apple River stabbing trial: Nicolae Miu's sentencing date scheduled
HUDSON, Wis. (FOX 9) - Nicolae Miu's sentencing date for his role in the Apple River stabbing has been scheduled. Miu was convicted on April 11 of first-degree reckless homicide in the killing of Isaac Schuman, four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety in the stabbings of A.J. Martin, Dante Carlson, Anthony "Tony" Carlson and Ryhley Mattison, and battery of Madison Coen on the Apple River on July 30, 2022.
Church theft investigations
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of thefts from vehicles in local church parking lots all occurring on Sunday, April 7. According to the Sheriff’s Office, at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, April 7, deputies were called to the Quarry Church in Monticello Township for a reported car break-in. Deputies learned through statements from the victim as well as from video from the church that an individual exited a newer silver Nissan Murano and approached the victim’s vehicle. The unidentified suspect then broke the driver side window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect can be seen leaning inside the vehicle. In this incident the victim reported the damaged window however stated nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle at the time of the report.
