A Beaumont father who was shot and killed one week ago today is laid to rest.
Family and friends honored Geraldo Escamilla Saturday during a funeral service.
A friend shared pictures of Escamilla and her memories after he died last weekend.
"He was a very sweet and amazing, funny person, he loved his daughters more than anything in the world," said the friend. "He was very loved by his family and friends. He was the best person you could have around to brighten up your day."
His funeral took place at Calvary Mortuary in Beaumont.
Last weekend, Escamilla was in a truck when a large number of shots were fired outside the parking lot of DMoney Daiquiris Lounge on Phelan near Dowlen Road in Beaumont's west end.
Escamilla was a passenger in a truck.
Police found him dead inside the vehicle.
Officers have charged two men with murder in connection to the killing.
