Prep softball: Riverhawks capture 4A title, second in three years
PROVO — Not wanting to have to play a Game 3, the Riverhawks went out and took care of business Saturday at Gail Miller Field on the campus of BYU. Ridgeline won its second 4A state softball title in the last three years with a 8-2 victory over Desert Hills in Game 2 to sweep the best-of-three series in the 4A Softball State Championship. The Riverhawks never trailed once the playoffs began and answered the call when the Thunder tied up the score Saturday.

High school boys soccer: Murray, Ridgeline each get tight wins to earn championship trip
Here’s a recap of the 4A boys soccer state tournament semifinals on Tuesday at Zions Bank Stadium. Murray and Ridgeline advanced to the final. The Murray Spartans ended their regular season with only two losses and took second place in Region 10. Both losses came at the hands of Layton Christian, who also took the Region 10 title from Murray. The Spartans got their revenge in a 3-2 semifinal win over the Eagles and advanced to the championship game.
