A police reports says that at approximately 7:15 p.m. on April 21, Konate opened the door for the victim from inside the vestibule of Bank of America. When she passed through a second interior door leading to the ATM, Konate followed closely behind her.

As she inserted her debit card into the ATM, the report says, Konate proceeded to threaten her with harm if she did not withdraw the cash to give to him. The threat involved Konate “manipulating an object in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, giving the  impression that he was armed with a firearm.”

The victim was able to flee the vestibule as Konate removed the debit card from the ATM machine and fled the area on a bicycle.

Konate, the report said, was identified by Bayonne Police detectives based on previous encounters they had with him.
