SO A LOT TO LOOK FORWARD TO. 647 ON THIS MONDAY. NOT REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RAIN, BUT WHEN’S IT GOING TO COME? LET’S CHECK IN WITH DAMON SINGLETON. YEAH, WELL, WE’VE GOT A COUPLE OF SPOTTY SHOWERS OUT THERE RIGHT NOW, BUT WE’RE EXPECTING MORE RAIN AND STORMS SOMEWHAT SIMILAR TO WHAT WE EXPERIENCED YESTERDAY. BACK WITH US ONCE AGAIN TODAY. LET ME SHOW YOU THE CURRENT RADAR PICTURE AND YOU CAN SEE OVER TOWARDS TANGIPAHOA PARISH. THAT’S WHERE THERE’S A FEW SPOTTY SHOWERS OUT THERE, BUT NOT MUCH ELSE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW AT THE AIRPORT. SOME CLOUDY SKIES, 75 DEGREES. THE TEMPERATURE, THE DEW POINTS ARE IN THE UPPER 60S RIGHT NOW. SO THE HUMIDITY, YOU HAD 82%. YOU MAY NOTICE THAT WHEN YOU STEP OUT OF THE DOOR, WHETHER YOU ARE NORTH OR SOUTH OF THE LAKE, AND WHILE I’M NOT EXPECTING MUCH IN TERMS OF RAINFALL FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS AS WE GET INTO THE LATTER PART OF THE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON, THAT RAINFALL POTENTIAL BUILDS STARTING DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE. AND TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENS AT 1:00. I DON’T LIKE SHOWING YOU THIS, BUT YEAH, THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS STARTING TO DEVELOP BACK IN TOWARDS BATON ROUGE AND ESPECIALLY FOR US DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE, SOME HEAVY DOWNPOURS, A POSSIBILITY IN THOSE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS STRETCHING ON TO THE NORTH SHORE AS WE GO INTO TWO AND 3:00 THIS AFTERNOON OVER TOWARDS BATON ROUGE AS WELL. AT THAT TIME FRAME AND STILL SOME RAINFALL POTENTIAL AS WE GO INTO THE MID AFTERNOON HOURS. ALL ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND OVER TOWARDS BATON ROUGE. I THINK IT’S GOING TO BE A RELATIVELY QUIET NIGHT TONIGHT AND SOME OF THE MORNING IS GOING TO BE PRETTY QUIET FOR TOMORROW. BUT THERE’S A POSSIBILITY OF SOME COASTAL RAINFALL ON TUESDAY MORNING. THEN THE RAINFALL IS BACK WITH US ONCE AGAIN, SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS FOR YOUR TUESDAY AFTERNOON NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE LAKE AND OVER TOWARDS BATON ROUGE AS WELL. AND THEN WE MAY WAKE TO SOME RAINFALL ALONG THE COASTLINE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. AND THAT’S GOING TO BE WITH US FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND THEN INTO THE AFTERNOON. I THINK OUR RAIN CHANCE IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT LOWER, BUT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS IS A POSSIBILITY WEDNESDAY AND ON THURSDAY. AND THEN I THINK WE’RE GOING TO SEE THOSE CHANCES GO DOWN QUITE A BIT AS WE GO INTO OUR FRIDAY. HOW MUCH RAIN ARE WE TALKING ABOUT BETWEEN NOW AND 11 P.M. TONIGHT? I GUESS MOST OF THE RAINFALL, THE BLUE INDICATING HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF OF PARTS OF TANGIPAHOA, TERREBONNE AND PARTS OF LAFOURCHE PARISH AS WELL. OTHERWISE NOT AS MUCH AROUND THE REST OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW ARE IN THE LOW 70S ON THE NORTH SHORE AND A GOOD MIX OF 70S DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE. 80 DEGREES RIGHT NOW OVER AT THE LAKEFRONT. AND THIS AFTERNOON, I’M EXPECTING YOUR TEMPERATURES TO RISE INTO THE MID TO UPPER 80S, MAYBE SOME LOW 90S OF 40 TO 50% CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS IN THE FORECAST FOR TODAY. SOME SPOTTY SHOWERS LATER ON TONIGHT WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S AND 70S AND THEN TOMORROW, RAIN CHANCES BACK AT AROUND 50% FOR YOUR TUESDAY DOWN TO A 40% CHANCE ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, 30% CHANCE ON FRIDAY AN

The convective development that we witnessed this weekend will continue this week at least through Wednesday and possibly Thursday. SELA is under the influence of a weak and broad upper-level low that is creating the instability that will likely interact with seabreeze and outflow boundaries resulting in the convection that will probably peak in the mid to late afternoon hours when instability is greatest with daytime heating. The primary concern from these strong to severe storms would be hail and strong damaging wind gusts.Spring tide conditions continue to effect areas around Bay St Louis and Waveland with minor tidal flooding of low lying roads possible both this afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.
