Deadly Bay Minette stabbing over stolen truck according to investigators
BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) - We’re learning more about what led to a deadly stabbing in Bay Minette last month. A man was found stabbed to death inside a home on Old Daphne Road. Bay Minette Police charged an Atmore woman with the killing. The suspect told police she’d tracked her stolen pickup to that residence, where she ended up confronting the man she said stole it.
Body camera footage shows arrest of Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputy
PENSACOLA, Fl. (WALA) - FOX10 News has exclusively obtained body camera footage showing the arrest of a Baldwin County sheriff’s deputy. In December, Deputy Danny Contreras was arrested in Pensacola. Contreras and two other men are accused of going on a “joyride” in a Pensacola city-owned UTV.
Bay Minette man pleads guilty to federal gun charge, admits packing guns in luggage in Mobile
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A Bay Minette man accused of trying to bring a loaded gun on to a plane pleaded guilty Tuesday to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Montrey Ladon Walter Evans admitted guilt in U.S. District Court as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, who agreed to recommend leniency in sentencing and ask that a charge of carrying a weapon on to a plane be dismissed. Senior U.S. District Judge William Steele set the defendant’s sentencing hearing for Aug. 27. He faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
APD creates crime tips email address
The Atmore Police Department announced April 18 the creation of a new email address for citizens to provide tips in reference to criminal incidents. Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that information provided through the email address, which is crimetips@atmorepolice.us, would be handled anonymously. Daphne PD: Pensacola man charged with DUI after crashing into convenience store
DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) - A Pensacola man faces charges after Daphne police say he drove his pickup truck through the front of a convenience store. A huge section of the Lake Forest Shell Station is boarded up after police say the alleged drunk driver caused significant damage as his truck ended up halfway inside the business.
