Lakeview's Anya Rankin is Enquirer Athlete of the Week winner

The fans have spoken.

The winner of the latest Enquirer Athlete of the Week fan poll is Anya Rankin of the Lakeview volleyball team.

Fans got behind Rankin to help her edge fellow Athlete of the Week finalists Elle Chantrenne, Avery Russell and Camille Rojas. Rankin received 47% of the vote by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline. Thanks to her fans, she will receive an Enquirer Athlete of the Week T-shirt.

Lakeview's Rankin helped the Spartans win the Portage Northern Invitational. The Spartans defeated Three Rivers in the championship final, 25-17, 21-25, 15-10. Rankin had 32 kills and 50 digs to help lead the way in the championship effort as Lakeview was undefeated on the day with wins over Otsego, Hopkins, Bronson, Buchanan and Edwardsburg.

"Anya is a total six-rotation player. She contributes offensively and defensively, transition in system and out of system. She is a steadying force within the team," Lakeview coach Heather Sawyer said.
