For a while, it appeared as though Kim Mulkey was going to retain all of her returning players from the last season's NCAA championship squad.

But that sentiment was extinguished Tuesday, just over two months removed from LSU women's basketball winning it all in Dallas, as freshman forward Alisa Williams entered her name in the transfer portal.

Williams, who played 58 total minutes in 20 games during her freshman campaign in Baton Rouge, was likely to not be a major contributor for the Tigers in 2023-24 as Mulkey and her staff added DePaul transfer forward Aneesah Morrow out of the portal to play alongside star Angel Reese.

LSU's staff also signed one of the most talented bigs in the 2023 class in Aalyah Del Rosario, who's expected to garner plenty of playing time this coming season.

In extreme limited playing time, Williams sored 18 points.

The 6-2 Denton, Texas, native committed to TCU prior to flipping to Mulkey and the Tigers. She averaged 17 points and seven rebounds her senior season at Braswell High School. Williams will likely have plenty of landing spots out of the transfer portal.

With the arrival of the No. 1 recruiting class, made up of four players, along with the addition of Louisville graduate transfer guard Hailey Van Lith, LSU is now down to 11 scholarship players, 12 total. Mulkey and her staff could bring in a couple more players but they will be judicious on who they might be.
