Angel Reese’s mom says young men are sliding into her DMs thinking she’s the LSU star

Some fans might be taking March Madness a little too far.

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese had to step in on social media after fans began messaging her mother — whose name is also Angel — dating requests on Twitter.

After the Lady Tigers’ 54-42 win over Miami on Sunday to reach the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament, the elder Angel took to Twitter and said she was getting dating requests from 20-something-year-old men who thought that she was her daughter.

“FYI… I am Angel Reese the mom, not the LSUwbb player,” Reese wrote. “Please be mindful when you tag and/or send me DM’s that your intent is to me not my daughter.

“I’m getting some crazy dating request from men my kids age who clearly by the content of msg think they’re sending it to Lil A.”

The younger Reese quote-tweeted her mom and wrote, “not y’all sliding in my momma dms,” with a skull emoji.

In a separate exchange, someone wrote: “You don’t know that for sure! I’d take it as a compliment! That acorn didn’t fall far from the tree!”

The elder Reese replied: “When they start out with ‘Hey Bayou Barbie’ I know.”

She added in another tweet, “Clearly these [twenty-something-yr-old’s are] confused on who they are sending it to.”

Reese, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward and top NIL earner, took to Twitter last Thursday to deny rumors that she’s dating rapper NBA Youngboy.

“I’m not this man GF,” she wrote. “Please stop.”

NBA Youngboy (the NBA stands for “Never Broke Again”) has yet to address the romance rumors.

The rapper’s real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden.

Reese finished with 13 points and 18 rebounds in LSU’s Elite Eight win over Miami on Sunday.

The All-American notched her 32nd double-double of the season, breaking the record for the most in a single season in SEC history.

Reese is one of the most buzzed about athletes in the 2023 NCAA Tournament — and leads men’s and women’s college basketball in NIL deals with 17, per a new report from SponsorUnited.

Miami’s Haley and Hanna Cavinder rank second with 16 NIL deals.

Reese, considered a top-five player in the nation, is averaging 23.2 points and 15.7 rebounds per game.

The 20-year-old All-American transferred to LSU in the offseason following two seasons at Maryland.

The Tigers will face top-seeded Virginia Tech in the Final Four on Friday in Dallas.

The No. 1 overall seed South Carolina will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The championship game will take place on April 2.
