Volta Oil raises thousands for Alzheimer's research
Volta Oil presented the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter with more than $122,000 on Oct. 28 after its 15th annual Purple Pump Up campaign. The five-week fundraiser brought together Garrett’s Family Market, Rapid Refill and Pro Clean locations across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, according to a community announcement. Participating locations included Garrett’s Family in Milford and Rapid Refill in Bellingham. Customers could donate at gas pumps or inside participating stores during the campaign, which began June 1. On June 21 and 22, during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, Volta Oil also donated 5 cents from every gallon of gas sold. “For 15 years, Purple Pump Up has shown us the incredible impact that can happen when a business and its community come together for a cause,” said Ginny Hanbridge, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “We are so grateful to Volta Oil and its customers for their generosity and continued commitment. Their support helps us bring critical resources to families today while investing in research that can change the future.” Purple Pump Up has raised $1.7 million Purple Pump Up has raised $1.7 million since its launch for the Alzheimer’s Association’s work in research, care
