Ribbon cutting held for Off the Railz Diner in downtown Chipley

Community members gathered Tuesday, July 21, for a grand opening and ribbon‑cutting ceremony at Off the Railz Diner, located at 686 5th Street in downtown Chipley. Owners Emily and Javier Valdovinos were joined by their family as they welcomed guests and celebrated the milestone. Attendees included customers, local residents, county commissioners, school board members, business owners, and representatives from local chambers of commerce. The diner offers home‑cooked, Southern‑style buffet items and is open Sunday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pictured above are the owners and their family with attendees during the ribbon cutting. Nilly's on Navy has new owners and a new menu

PANAMA CITY BEACH − Nilly's on Navy, formerly known as Nilly's Wine Bar, is under new ownership and is now serving delicious food in Panama City Beach. Owners Mike and Kathryn Fendall bought Nilly's from its previous owners six months ago. Mike Fendall was a police officer before becoming a restaurant owner. "We purchased Nilly's from the previous owners who had other ventures going on," Mike Fendall said. "We changed up the menu to the things that we offer now." The restaurant had a grand opening with the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce at the beginning of July. The restaurant's main attraction is smash burgers. "Our smash burgers are really good," Fendall said. "We encourage everybody to give them a shot. We also have a wide variety of french fries to complement your burger. "I'd like to call us a small 'hole in the wall' business. We don't have a whole lot of room. We try to accommodate every one of our customers because we tend to get a lot of traffic during lunch time."
