    Softball: End of April brings major changes to lohud Top 10 rankings

    While the top three are unchanged this week, the lohud softball rankings look different from No. 4 on down, and a new entrant is making waves.

    Here's a look at the third lohud Top 10 rankings of the high school softball season.

    Top 10 rankings

    1. North Rockland (11-1): The Red Raiders keep trucking along. The bats continue to impress along with a stable of pitchers as Tara Murphy and Maddie Burns stepped up to fill some real big shoes. The only blip for the Red Raiders last week was a 1-0 loss to Section 9's Warwick. Last week: 1
    2. White Plains (12-1): The Tigers continue to mash opponents, now outscoring foes 121-23 this season. This week alone, White Plains outscored opponents 37-5 and got wins against Greeley, Fox Lane, and Ursuline. Last week: 2
    3. Clarkstown South (11-3): The Vikings stay in the top three this week after wins over Nanuet and district rival Clarkstown North. The lone loss of the week came in a tight game against North Rockland. Last week: 3
    4. Ketcham (8-3): The Storm made the biggest jump of the week as they saw the bats really come alive. This week, they outscored opponents 51-10. They got a pair of quality wins, against Section 2's Columbia and Section 9's Pine Plains in Ketcham's tournament. In the second game, Jenny Nardelli joined the 100-hit club. Last week 8
    5. Eastchester (9-1): After a Week 1 loss to White Plains, the Eagles fly onto the rankings this week after rattling off nine straight wins. This week, they earned two very big wins against Ardsley and fellow Class AA opponent Ursuline. Top to bottom, the Eagles have a deep lineup led by Alyssa Peduto. Last week: N/A
    6. Albertus Magnus (5-2): The Falcons had another split week with a shutout of Nanuet and a close one-run loss to North Rockland. Teagan Dwyer keeps showing herself to be one of the top pitchers in the area. Last week: 5
    7. Rye Neck (10-1): The Panthers continued to roll last week with the bats. Clare Picone, Ariana Hammer Shelby Pressier powered the offense this week in wins that included a milestone win for coach Joan Spedafino . Last week: 10
    8. Harrison (6-3): It was a quiet week for the Huskies, but they made it count with a quality win over Mamaroneck. Last week 9
    9. Ursuline (8-5): The Koalas take the biggest tumble this week after losses to White Plains and Eastchester. The offense continues to roll behind Ava Papaleo, who got her 100th career hit this week. Last week 4
    10. Arlington (9-4): The Admirals continue to win. In their last two games, they got back-to-back shutouts of Pawling and New Rochelle. Alyssa Liguori keeps showing why she's one of the best. The offense outscored opponents 31-2 last week. Last week: 6
