Softball: There's a shakeup at the top in the latest lohud Top 10 rankings

There's a shakeup in the top half of the lohud softball Top 10 rankings this week.

Last Saturday's Rockland Softball Challenge knocked around a bunch of the teams, and others have pitched their way up the rankings..

Here's a look at the second lohud Top 10 rankings of the high school softball season.

Records reflect games through Sunday, April 21

  1. North Rockland (8-0): The Red Raiders keep plugging along, showing they can win with dominance and can also win close game. This week, they outscored opponents 23-4 across wins over Ursuline, Nanuet, Clarkstown North and Tappan Zee. Last week: 2
  2. White Plains (9-1): The Tigers made the biggest jump of the week. Dating back to April 13, the Tigers are outscoring the opponents 51-0. They've been getting contributions up and down that lineup, led by Aleixs Tighe, Emily Anastacio, Ava Ritterman and Madison DeLarosa, just to name a few. Last week: 5
  3. Clarkstown South (9-2): The Vikings fall this week after being shut out by White Plains. The bats came back in a strong way the next two games, led by Grace Camerlingo and Gillian Ulrich. Last week: 1
  4. Ursuline (6-3): The Koalas had a good showing at Arlington's tournament over the weekend with wins over Hen Hud and Arlington B, led by the bats of Ava Papaleo and Jessica Tejera. That came after losses to North Rockland and Mamaroneck. Last week 3
  5. Albertus Magnus (4-1): The Falcons have been a victims of the weather but they were able to get wins against Maria Regina and Valhalla. Last week: 4
  6. Arlington (5-4): The Admirals had a good showing in their tournament last weekend, getting wins over Hen Hud and Brewster. In that second game, they got contributions from Jocelyn Pepe and Sophia Liguori. Last week: 7
  7. Tappan Zee (8-3): The Dutchmen have shown a lot with the bats this week, outscoring opponents 25-14. They continue to show why they're one of the top teams in Class A as their only two losses this week came to Pearl River and North Rockland. Last week 6
  8. Ketcham (4-3): The Storm had two games last week and continued with their see-saw performance. They had a solid win over New Rochelle, seeing the bats continue to wake up, but came up a little short in a loss to Arlington. Last week 8
  9. Harrison (5-3): The Huskies started to storm back with a solid week of wins. As the only team to play on Sunday, Harrison got a win over Class AA opponent Somers. Baraba Jo Coppola got her 100th hit in the win over Nanuet this week. Last week 9
  10. Rye Neck (7-1): The Panthers continue to roll last week with solid wins over Dobbs Ferry, Pelham and Valhalla. Shelby Pressier was a part of the milestone week as the junior notched her 100th career strikeout in the win over Pelham. Last week: 10
