SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Law enforcement agencies lined up along the interstate from Kittery to Bangor Saturday evening as the body of Southwest Harbor Reserve Officer Nicholas Hardwick Jr. was escorted by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Harbor Police Department and others to a Bangor funeral home.

“This is one of the few times you will see a police officer cry,” said Southwest Harbor Police Chief John Hall. “It is a real loss for us.”
