A woman was arrested Friday afternoon in Bandon after nearly striking several people on a sidewalk with her vehicle, the Coos County Sheriff's Office said.
Just before 3 p.m., Bandon Police were alerted to a reported reckless driver near the intersection of Hwy 42S and Hwy 101 in Bandon.
"It was reported that the vehicle drove onto the curb and nearly struck several women on the sidewalk at the location," CCSO said.
A Bandon officer and CCSO deputy responded and located the vehicle on SE 18th Street.
The vehicle’s driver, Leah M. Gitter, 54, of Bandon, was arrested on four counts of reckless endangering and reckless driving.
Gitter was transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and later released on her own recognizance, the report stated.
