Family, friends, and residents gathered together in Brooklyn Park for a vigil in honor of Christopher Wright.
On Friday, they paused to remember the father of three by lighting candles, playing music and giving emotional speeches.
" I have relived every moment of this up until 9:41 on Saturday when they pronounced Chris dead and I'm not sure how we got here," said Wright's sister-in-law while holding back tears.
FOX45 News reported that Wright was killed on On Friday, May 19th after three teens and two adults drove to the home of Wright's family.
Tracy Karopchinsky, the Fiancé of Wright, says her son was in a fight at his middle school in school with other incidents happening in connection to the altercation throughout the week.
Wright was gardening at the time the individuals approached and stopped in order to defend his home.
After the altercation, Wright was rushed to Shock trauma and left with brain injuries before his death.
"I loved him more than anything in the world, the father of our kids there's no question in my mind that he loved us and that he loved me, said Karopchinsky. "He gave the ultimate sacrifice for his children and that's what I want my kids to know first and foremost about Daddy that he loved them more than anything in this world, anything."
A Gofundme account has been set up for the Wright family in order to help with funeral costs.
