A 27-year-old man was charged with attempted first degree murder in connection to a February 15 shooting, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 3500 block of Northway Avenue.
When officers arrived to the scene, police said the 67-year-old victim told them he was getting into his car when an unknown man tried to rob him.
The suspect pulled out a handgun and discharged it during the encounter, police said. The victim sustained a graze wound to his stomach and was treated at the scene by medics.
Police said the suspect fled from the scene on foot.
Shooting detectives and robbery detectives were able to identify the suspect as Karon Alston and obtained an arrest warrant, police said.
On March 29, police said members of the Warrant Task Force arrested Alston in the 3500 block of E. Northern Parkway without incident.
Police said Alston was taken to the Northeast District to be interviewed, then taken to Central Booking where he was charged with attempted first degree murder and attempted armed robbery.
Alston was also served with three additional open warrants, police said, and charged him with robbery and assault.
