Earlier this week, 33 people were indicted for being part of a drug conspiracy, distributing drugs across Baltimore.
According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, several of them are repeat offenders.
“Of the 33 members indicted, 12 are repeat violent offenders, two of these members have been arrested more than 30 times," said Harrison.
Court records show arrest dating back to the 1990s for many of the defendants and several defendants arrested during Marilyn Mosby's time as City State's Attorney.
Many of those cases, which were drug related were resolved with no jail time, only probation. In some cases, the charges were dropped.
“People being arrested many times and justice is either not being served, or their cases are not coming to fruition, with them either being prosecuted and/ or convicted," said Harrison.
Meanwhile, in Annapolis, lawmakers don't appear to be concerned with passing crime bills that actually reduce crimes.
Attorney Kurt Nachtman told FOX45 News, “I think the general assembly at this juncture just has different priorities."
Pointing to Marilyn Mosby's lack of prosecution for low level crimes, leading to a crime wife in Baltimore.
“It certainly does contribute to a feeling of lawlessness, both on the criminal side as well as on the citizenry of Baltimore City," said Nachtman.
