Baltimore Police have confirmed 33-year-old Ernest Hall was the victim killed in Thursday morning's mass shooting in the 2800 block of Edmondson Ave.
Fox45 has learned that Hall was a local boxer, who owned the boxing gym Lightning Quick Fit in Mount Vernon.
Hall completed in the 2016 Olympic trials and had several professional fights.
Hall was training for an upcoming fight, set to take place on April 1st.
Rudy Doukmajian was a friend who trained with Hall. He was also Hall's attorney.
“I love boxing, I was looking for a new gym when I moved to Baltimore City and I found Ernie," said Doukmajian.
Doukmajian spoke with Hall two hours before he was killed.
“He was excited to get a shot at another pretty big fight on a big card,” he said.
That was the last time Doukmajian would speak to his friend Hall.
“It’s a cliche, when people pass away everyone says you know all good things, he was this, he was that. But Ernie was actually, he was a gem for the city of Baltimore," said Doukmajian.
Ernest Hall's funeral will be April 7th at noon. He leaves behind three children according to Doukmajian.
