When it comes to the ethics violations against City Council President Nick Mosby, the ethics board said the case is closed.
Ten months after the board demanded Mosby shut down a legal defense fund and release the names of donors, the board said Mosby has complied.
However, a FOX45 request to review the donation roster was returned with eight pages of donations totaling less than $15,000. Donor's names were redacted.
"We don't know if they're individuals, whether they're businesses, whether they have contacts with the city, there's so much information that isn't known right now," said Taxpayer advocate David Williams.
The ethics board claims the donors names were redacted because they constitute information about the finances of an individual which the board is required to protect.
Williams disagrees, "To say this is a legal defense fund and not a campaign fund is a distinction without a difference because you are giving money to an elected official."
