THE MAYOR SAYS HE WORKED WITH HIS CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO MOBILIZE CLEANUP CREWS AT THIS RIGHT IN SOUTHWEST BALTIMORE. For weeks, SkyTeam 11 has captured exclusive video showing piles of illegally dumped trash in Baltimore City.Mayor Brandon Scott addressed the issue and shared his plans to solve it, saying in a tweet that illegal dumping has no place in Baltimore. He's now working with several city agencies to clean up the mess.Over the weekend, the mayor said he worked with his chief administrative officer to mobilize cleanup crews to a site in southwest Baltimore, where exclusive SkyTeam 11 video showed a massive pile of dumped tires near Leakin Park.The cleanup teams included members of the city's Departments of Housing and Community Development and Public Works.Illegal dumping is a persistent problem in the city, the 11 News I-Team has reported. SkyTeam 11 captured video Monday also from southwest Baltimore, where there were tires dumped on Edmondson Avenue near the site of last week's pile.But this isn't a problem just in southwest Baltimore. On Monday, the Baltimore Junior Academy in northwest Baltimore shared video that showed someone dumping tires behind the school.The mayor encourages anyone who sees illegal dumping to call 311.
