Baltimore Pick 4 Regular Adds Scratch-Off to Purchase, Wins $50,000

Kim Pullen of Baltimore added a scratch-off to her daily numbers routine and ended up with a $50,000 win.

Her extra cash will make vacations extra fun

On a whim, an avid Pick 4 player from Baltimore decided to buy a $5 Maryland Lottery scratch-off and scored the biggest win of her life: a $50,000 top prize on the Lucky Riches game.

Kim Pullen scratched it off in Parkway Exxon in Baltimore, where she made the purchase, and right in the middle of the play area she matched the number 16 over the prize amount of $50,000.

“I said, ‘Is this for real?’” the winner recalled on March 17 while claiming her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I almost scratched a hole in the ticket!”

She was initially drawn to playing a scratch-off because of a Lottery advertisement. When she was at Parkway Exxon located at 5600 Reisterstown Road buying her daily Pick 4 tickets, she asked the clerk about that specific game. It was not in stock, so she just pointed to the $5 Lucky Riches game and she won!

Kim already has two major vacation trips planned this year, one to Jamaica and one to Aruba, and the extra money will come in handy during those trips. “This is going to make them even better,” Kim said.

The traveling winner has no plans to give up playing Pick 4 in favor of scratch-off games, but she says she’ll probably add scratch-offs to her routine.

Sharing in her good luck is the Parkway Exxon station, which picks up a Lottery bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.

Kim’s prize is the third one claimed on the Lucky Riches instant ticket, leaving five awaiting discovery along with 10 $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $5 to $1,000. This game went on sale in February.
