A man was shot when he got into a fight with a security guard early this morning in Fells Point, according to Baltimore Police.
Police said they were called to the 700 block of South Broadway just before 2:30 a.m. today for a report of a shooting inside an establishment.
When officers arrived, they said they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital and is in surgery, according to police.
The security guard and the man had gotten into a fight before the shooting, according to police. The security guard fired his gun and hit the man, according to police.

A bill introduced in the Maryland Legislature this session would require all security guards to be licensed by the state. The bill has passed the Senate.
There have been several other instances of shootings involving security guards recently. In October, a security guard is accused of shooting a man at a Royal Farms in the 1800 block of Washington Boulevard. The security guard in that case faces attempted murder charges.
