Baltimore City firefighters battled a blaze in East Baltimore that was spread by windy conditions overnight, according to a Tweet from the fire department.
The fire broke out in the 800 block of Lakewood Avenue before 2 a.m. today, according to the Tweet. The first firefighters on the scene could see flames coming from the building. The fire quickly spread to neighboring buildings because of the wind, according to the fire department.
A second alarm was called to bring more resources to the scene.
Baltimore City Fire Assistant Chief Roman Clark said that four homes were involved in the fire and that two of them were occupied.
Clark also said that no firefighters and no civilians were injured in the fire.
The fire department said the fire is under control, and the cause is being investigated.
This morning's fire comes almost 24 hours after a fire killed three children and left two adults in critical condition in Southwest Baltimore.
