A man convicted in a violent bank robbery in Baltimore is on the run, officials say.
The US Marshals Service has joined the search for Dorian Jamerson.
According to investigators, Jamerson robbed a bank in Baltimore back in 2000.
Investigators detail Jamerson and co-conspirators held the manager of the branch at gunpoint while ordering the employees to put cash from the bank’s vault into a pillowcase.
Jamerson and his co-conspirators escaped with more than $300,000, officials say.
Jamerson was later arrested and according to investigators sentenced to more than two decades in prison.
Fast forward to 2020, Jamerson is freed from custody but placed on supervised release.
An arrangement that authorities say didn’t last long.
He has a long history of eluding police capture, assault, breaking, and entering.
“As part of his conditions for release, he was ordered to attend a drug treatment program and complete it. He failed to go to his treatment sessions and tested positive for drugs,” said David Lutz, Supervisor with the US Marshals Service.
Jamerson hasn’t been seen since, and now the US Marshals Service has joined the search for him.
“He’s been known to frequent the Baltimore City and Baltimore County areas,” said Lutz. “It's important because of his criminal history because likely now he’s going to turn back to crime.”
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jamerson is asked to contact the US Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED-2 or agents directly at 202-819-5058.
