BALLSTON SPA, NY (WRGB) —
A 14 year-old Ballston Spa High School student is currently in the hospital -- after being hit by a car just off campus Monday afternoon.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on Ballston Avenue -- at the 2:30 p.m. dismissal time.
The teen has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is investigating. They say the driver remained on scene and is cooperating.
The mayor of Ballston Spa says this is not the first accident to happen in the school's zone in recent years.

He wants to look for ways to make that section of Ballston Avenue safer.
