Public invited to premiere of ‘Prom Dates’ movie filmed in Syracuse
“Prom Dates,” the latest movie filmed in Syracuse, will be released on Friday, May 3, and local residents are invited to the New York premiere. The movie will begin streaming on Hulu on May 3, but it will also be screened that night at Syracuse Studios, the Liverpool headquarters for the American High film company.
Syracuse Jazz Fest announces opening night lineup
The Syracuse Jazz Fest has released the schedule for its opening night. The 2024 National Grid Syracuse International Jazz Fest will take place June 26-30, at multiple venues. In all, 26 local artists will appear at 21 downtown nightspots on opening night (Wednesday, June 26), from 5-10 p.m. The full schedule is below.

Syracuse alumna who discovered Jackson 5 to be inducted in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
A Syracuse University alumna will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year for her work as a music executive. Suzanne de Passe, who graduated from SU in 1968 and is credited with discovering the Jackson 5, will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, the Rock Hall announced Sunday.
