MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Easton Roller Mill closed out its fall season with a community fall festival. The event was open to the public, and locals were invited to enjoy the historic Easton Roller Mill. The mill is 159 years old and includes a guided tour focused on the history of the mill. Volunteers also fired up the engine to demonstrate the inside of a working mill.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.—Early and absentee voting totals for the 2026 midterm election will surpass the totals from 2022, according to Monongalia County Clerk Carye Blaney. During the first nine days of the 10-day early voting period, Blaney reported 17 percent of the registered voters in the county, or nearly 11,700 people, have come to either the Mountaineer Mall or Mason Dixon Park to cast a ballot as of the close of business Friday.

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The City of Fairmont has officially broken ground on a multi-million-dollar stormwater infrastructure project that is fully funded through state grants. Fairmont City Manager Travis Blosser announced on WAJR’s Talk of the Town that the first phase of the approximately $17.4 million Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) Stormwater project has broken ground near Morgantown Avenue as part of an effort to replace stormwater piping that hasn’t been addressed in decades. The project will be paid for through the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Abandoned Mine Lands Program after coordination with town officials after the devastating Father’s Day floods back in 2025.

Council members must be in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade and attend a school within city limits. Those schools include Notre Dame, Robert C. Byrd or Emmanuel Christian.
