A quiet neighborhood in Baldwin County just outside the Spanish Fort city limits was interrupted by the sound of gunfire Saturday.
25-year-old Trinell Brown is behind bars tonight after Baldwin County Sheriff's Office say he shot and killed both of his parents.
"This part its usually a quiet area so it's absolutely shocking," said Brandon McFarland, a neighbor.
According to preliminary information released by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, Trinell Brown, the son of two deceased victims, allegedly went to his parents' residence to confront them about an ongoing family dispute. An argument ensued, and brown allegedly shot and killed both of his parents.
After the shooting witnesses reported that Brown then exited the residence and confessed to the killings.
Neighbors reported hearing more than half a dozen gunshots.
"The first one was extremely loud, more like a rifle, and then the shots right after that seemed like they came from a handgun of sorts in rapid fire," said Keith Kehoe, a neighbor.
Brandon McFarland and his family were home when the tragedy occurred. He says when he heard the first shot, he immediately went to shelter his family.
"When I heard the first bang I ran outside and asked what was going on and she said I think it's gunshots and we all kind of stood still and didn't run around," said Brandon McFarland, "It sounded to me like it was about five or six shots. One loud bang right away, and then about 5-6 consecutive gunshots after that."
NBC15 News listened to the actual audio of the surveillance video, and it sounded like 15 shots.
Trinell Brown is in custody and the investigation is ongoing. If you have information regarding this case, please contact the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.
