A large fire broke out at a high school graduation ceremony in California Thursday night.
Photos from viewers show the large fire that erupted in an empty lot near Golden Valley High School's ceremony.
One viewer stated that the fire caused the stands to be evacuated and the ceremony was paused.
Firefighters with the Kern County Fire Department told KERO a preliminary investigation indicates that a firework set off nearby sparked the fire.
Battalion Chief Matt Imbelloni said the fire was active for 25 to 30 minutes before both the Bakersfield Fire Department and Kern County Fire Department put it out.
No injuries have been reported so far.
Crews with KBAK and KBFX responded to the area just after 10 p.m. but there was no fire visible at that time.
