May, of Po Boy Pizza, is passing the torch, restaurant to close

Bachelor on the Cheap Update - 07/30/2024: Po Boy Pizza posted the following on the restaurant's Facebook Page earlier today:

We will be changing our closing date from August 6th to tomorrow July 31st so come get some pizza rolls while supplies last!

We do apologize for the change in date. We would like to thank every customer for their continued support all the very kind messages we have received, and the customers returning and telling us the great stories has brought so much joy to our hearts.

Owner May stated in the original Facebook post announcing her retirement that she passed ownership and recipes along to her sons who will carry operations on in the future, but when that will be is unclear.

The makers of one of the best pizzas in town is retiring, and passing the restaurant torch to her sons. Here's a snippet of a letter from May and a link to the restaurant's Facebook page:

If you've never had a Po Boy Pizza, it's a MUST try! If you're already a fan of the place, when is the last time you placed an order? It's time to place another one. Here's a snippet of what I wrote in a review during a Bachelor on the Cheap Pizza Challenge, finding the best local pizza restaurant in the Wichita Metro: This is no run-of-the-mill dough, Po Boy puts some flavor in their product. And while that crust is an awesome, perfectly baked foundation, what put this pizza over the top for me was the sauce. The pizza sauce has some zest, delivering big time on the garlic and oregano notes. The meats and veggies were all good quality ingredients and generous in portion.

Reasonably priced, Po Boy should be on everybody's Top 3 List of Best Local Pizza Joints in the Wichita Metro.
