Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and I love to cook, I mean, who doesn't appreciate bacon and eggs, or biscuits and gravy? But there are those times when the demands of the day don't allow for scratch cooking, such as early morning appointments, errands/tasks, or travel.

I'm a hot meal-for-breakfast kind of guy, cold cereal or smoothies won't do. My favorite breakfast in general is some kind of meat, cheese, and egg combo wrapped in a bread vessel, be it a biscuit, croissant, or tortilla. That type of breakfast also works well with a busy morning, out-and-about running errands or whatever, eating breakfast on the go. Convenience on such days, matters.
Here's a list of my Top 5 Fast Food Breakfasts, and yes in order of preference.
Casey's: Breakfast pizza slice, sausage. The only time I have this breakfast option is when I'm traveling. I like to stop at Casey's when on the road because they're consistent. There's no fear of scary bathrooms, they're usually one of the cheaper options for refueling and their pizza is pretty decent, all breakfast and traditional varieties. The breakfast pizza isn't the cleanest option to be eating while driving, you have to avoid possible spillage on the shirt, but it's a tasty eat to start the day. Go with a New York fold.
Wendy's: Breakfast Baconator. As if a nicely seasoned sausage patty isn't enough meat, Wendy's adds Applewood smoked bacon to this very tasty, but very indulgent breakfast sandwich. In addition to the meats, there's a slice of American cheese, and a fresh-cracked egg done over hardstyle, all covered in a Swiss cheese sauce. Napkins are required with the cheese sauce. This breakfast eat is best eaten parked in the parking lot of that first thing in the morning appointment, task, or errand on the list... Two hands are recommended.
Burger King: Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant. This used to be my go-to, on-the-go meal to start a busy day. The buttery croissant, the fluffy egg, the nicely seasoned sausage, and the melted cheese are a great combination and Burger King makes a good one. This is a tasty, clean breakfast eat. I like this breakfast sandwich so much, that I often stock my freezer with a grocery store copycat version, a great Plan B, impromptu option.
Spangles: Sourdough Ham & Cheese Omelet Sandwich. Spangle's is a regional fast-food chain in my neck of the woods and this sandwich is darn tasty! Eggs, Ham, American & Swiss cheese on butter-toasted sourdough bread. The portion is eggs is VERY generous and the grilled sourdough provides a nice, buttery light crunchy exterior and fluffy, pillowy interior in each bite. This sandwich supplanted Burger King's Croissant as a routine, morning on-the-go first-stop preference, until...
Taco Bell: Breakfast Crunchwrap (Sausage). This in my book, is the ultimate breakfast treat to eat when on the go. Not only is it delicious, but the way it's packaged, there's virtually no fear of spillage on the shirt! It has everything I'm looking for in a hot breakfast, fluffy eggs, nicely seasoned sausage, melted cheese, and BONUS, a crispy hash brown, all dressed with a creamy jalapeño sauce and wrapped inside a warm, grilled, flour tortilla. It's as I like to say, "Another Dose of YUM!" When I'm out and about, a Taco Bell Breakfast Crunchwrap is now my first choice.
All these breakfasts can be had for less than $5, which is Bachelor on the Cheap wallet-friendly. I avoid going for combos, which cost more, and while tater tots and/or hash browns are quite tasty, I frankly don't need the extra carbs, and I prefer my personal blend of coffee. Just the sandwich is completely satisfying.
