I'm sure you've heard of this program from the United States Postal Service. Okay, maybe that's pushing it for the younger generation that isn't really into snail mail at all. But it's still back, and would love your help. USPS Operation Santa is a 111-year-old program that not only helps...
Beautiful Maine Lighthouse is a Can’t-Miss Attraction During the Holiday
There's nothing like the beauty and stature of a lighthouse. The iconic structures sit idly by, almost stoic-like, through changing seasons and the fickle weather. Maine is no stranger to these historic protectors of seafarers. Incredibly, the Pine Tree State has 65 of them still standing. While Portland Head Light...

Reny’s Planning to Open Another Central Maine Location
Here in New England we really love our overstock and discount stores. They are so popular in this part of the country that we have several discount store chains. Yeah, we don't just have discount stores, we have entire discount store chains. The most popular of these are Ocean State...
The Best Restaurant in Each of Maine’s Coziest Towns, According to Yelp
Whether you love this time of year in New England or not, there's one thing that can't be denied -- New England in the winter time is something special. Majestic, even. Sure, when you take a deep breath in during the most frigid parts of winter, your nose hairs may all instantly freeze -- and from personal experience, don't ever try to see if your tongue really does stick to a pole when it's cold out, because first-hand experience says it does -- but there's something freshly crisp about that cold air.

Do People Drive Better on Back Roads or Highways in a Maine Snow Storm?
Let's be real... Everyone in Maine thinks they're a good driver. I have a theory that all this chit-chat surrounding the idea of "Mass-hole" drivers is a lot of bull crap. I've driven in Boston more times than I can count and have never run into any issues. If I need to merge, I just merge. And drivers there have no problem with that. Ever try to merge onto anything in Maine?

Maine Actually Wants $5 For You To Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree
Count this as yet another reason I love having a fake tree. Several years ago, my wife and I both realized we were keeping the real tree dream alive in our house, because we both thought the other one really loved having a real Christmas tree. Turns out both of us couldn't stand it and were more than thrilled to hop on the fake tree bandwagon.
