Fort Worth puts the brakes on street maintenance fee for residents
Fort Worth officials halted a proposal that would have placed a new city service fee on residents to fund street maintenance. The announcement comes nearly two months after staff originally proposed the idea to City Council. Council member Michael Crain, who serves on council’s Mobility: Infrastructure & Transportation Committee, said he’s glad the proposal has been canceled, adding that staff did not follow the proper process for introducing such a recommendation.
