12 arrested in Myrtle Beach, Horry County police operation
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Over 10 people found themselves in custody last week as a result of a police operation in Horry County. The Horry County Police Department and Myrtle Beach Police Department announced 12 arrests Monday which “yielded the recovery of several thousand dollars in stolen merchandise.” Two fugitives, including one from Texas, were among those arrested.

Officials: 2 hospitalized after suspect shoots man, herself in McDowell Co.
MARION, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation is underway following a shooting that took place on Sunday. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to U.S. 221 north in Marion around 11 p.m. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a man with a gunshot wound. He was flown to Mission Asheville for medical treatment.
Man Says Says FBI & DOT Are Investigating His Alleged Moving Company Scam Experience
STATESVILLE, N.C. – WCCB has emails into the FBI and the U.S. Department of Transportation about a local woman’s experience with a moving company. Ashley Ayers hired Ryder Relocations to move her belongings from Conway, South Carolina to Statesville, North Carolina. Her husband was in hospice, and they wanted to be closer to his medical team. She says the company sent a subcontractor, Sal’s Moving, to do the job. The movers first quoted her just under $6,000. Once her home was packed and on the moving truck, they told her the price changed to $18,000. She has refused to pay. The moving company has refused to tell her where her belongings are. Her husband has since died, and she cannot settle his estate because their wills and records were packed in the move.
