    Your Seattle Labor Day weekend lineup

    With sunny skies, temperatures in the 70s and low 80s and a slew of weekend activities, it's a great weekend to get what could be a last taste of summer.

    Here are five of our favorites, several of which are multi-day events.


    Thursday

    🫨 Check out the the Big Shaker (a simulator capable of mimicking an 8.0 magnitude earthquake), look at fault lines and learn what to do before, during and after a quake. 2–6pm at the Delta Plaza in Marysville . Free.

    Friday

    🕹️ Dress up and play at PAX West in Seattle, a huge celebration of gamers and gaming from consoles to tabletop to virtual reality.

    • There's free play, tournaments, a "Bring Your Own Computer" party, panels, an exhibit hall with merch and the multi-platform Omegathon . At the Seattle Convention Center through Monday. Day passes start at $66 .

    Saturday

    🎢 Head down to Puyallup for the Washington State Fair , one of the largest fairs in the country, drawing more than 1 million people each year . The fair runs through September but this is an especially good weekend to go as kids age 18 and under get in free through Monday.

    Sunday

    🎤 Catch the vibe at Bumbershoot , one of the country's longest-running independent music and arts festivals, with a lineup that includes Pavement, Cypress Hill, James Blake, Carl Cox, Freddie Gibbs, Aly & AJ and more.

    • A day pass to the two-day festival at the Seattle Center is $85.

    Monday

    🌙 Listen to "Moondance" with a Van Morrison tribute band before exploring the Ballard Locks with a naturalist. Concert and tours start at 2pm . Free.
