A new platform called Our Day connects engaged couples with wedding vendors in North Carolina and beyond through a streamlined request-for-service process.
Why it matters: Wedding planning can be stressful. Our Day was designed to create a simpler process for couples to find vendors, compare prices and finalize other wedding-planning details.
Background: Founder Bryn Khoury launched the platform in Charlotte last year after experiencing the same stress many future brides encounter trying to plan a wedding between work schedules.
- "I created this for the busy working couple. Charlotte seemed like a perfect-sized city with busy working professionals, so it was a bit of a no-brainer," Khoury said.
The latest: Since its launch, the platform has assisted more than 4,000 couples across North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
How it works: Couples fill out a form about their wedding date, location, budget, preferred services and any unique visions they have for their big day.
- You'll have access to over 750 local business services where you can explore pricing proposals, vendor profiles, portfolios and customer reviews.
- If you accept a quote, you can ask vendors questions and schedule consultations.
- Wedding planners can also manage clients and vendors in one place on the platform.

Cost: The service is free for couples. Small businesses can pay for potential customer leads, or pay a flat rate of $35 per month to be a listed vendor.
Zoom in: Interested vendors must be inclusive to all religions, races and sexual orientations.
- Couples can expect to find typical vendors like venues , planners, hair stylists, makeup artists and photographers.
- There's also a recently added list of specialty services including fireworks, live painters and magicians for those looking to add a unique touch.

What's next: Our Day can only be accessed online for now. Eventually, it'll be available through an app.
