A new feel-good movie about youth baseball showcases Colorado's growing film industry.

State of play: Director and writer Lee Cipolla and his wife and producer, Katherine Borda, recently moved to Boulder to get away from the bustle of Los Angeles.

    • With their latest film, " Rally Caps ," they want to prove you don't need the bright lights of Hollywood to make it big in the movie business.

What they're saying: "Our goal is to help inspire the locals with our film to show them that anything is possible if you have a dream and are willing to work for it," Cipolla told Axios.

    • "You don't need to wait for that 'big Hollywood break' to make moves in the entertainment industry and carve out your place in it."

Zoom in: The couple worked with local production companies to film "Rally Caps," which was partially shot in Colorado and features the Broomfield Thunder youth baseball team.

    • The film is adapted from the eponymous book and features a friendship between two boys — a catcher and a pitcher — who find the strength to overcome mental and physical struggles.
    • It highlights prominent actors Judd Hirsh and Amy Smart and debuted Tuesday on Amazon Prime and other streaming platforms.
