    Police asking for help identifying suspect of east Austin armed robbery

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect of an aggravated robbery that happened in east Austin earlier this month.

    APD said it happened at the Airport Lounge Sweepstakes on Monday, June 3 shortly before 1 p.m.

    According to police, the suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded cash from the register. He fled the scene on foot and went north toward East 12th Street and Airport Boulevard.

    The suspect is described as:

    • White or Hispanic male
    • Approximately 5’6”- 5’10” tall
    • Heavy build
    • Approximately in 30s

    The suspect was last seen wearing:

    • Black hoodie with “Adidas” tags
    • Dark gray pants
    • Black and white shoes
    • Blue surgical mask

    Anyone with any information should contact APD’s Robbery unit at 512-974-5092. You may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
