We are less than 24 hours away from finding out where the Texas Longhorns will start their road to Omaha, as they look to make it for the third straight season under David Pierce and the 39th time in program history - further extending their record for most College World Series appearances.

Of course, they would prefer to be staying home and hosting a regional, but that chance is long gone. Had they not dropped two straight in the conference tournament to be sent packing from Arlington, they had a chance.

Now, though, they will be on the road in a regional as a likely No. 2 seed. Where they go, though, is still anyone's guess. Until the field is revealed on Monday morning, D1Baseball offered their latest Field of 64 projection

Their projection in fact does see the Longhorns earn a No. 2 seed, heading out west to the Palo Alto Regional which the Stanford Cardinal are hosting as the No. 1 seed and No. 7 national seed. Joining Texas and Stanford are the UC Irvine Anteaters and Santa Clara Broncos as the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds respectively.

It would be far from an easy regional, as winning on the road in Palo Alto is a difficult task to accomplish. Should they manage to go on the road and win this hypothetical regional however, then they would be paired with the winner of the Conway Regional.

The Conway Regional would be hosted by the No. 1 seed and No. 10 national seed Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. They would be accompanied by the No. 2 seed East Carolina Pirates, No. 3 seed NC State Wolfpack and No. 4 seed Rider Broncs.

Of course, this is all purely hypothetical and could be entirely different. The Longhorns could go to Palo Alto or they could end up somewhere entirely different to start the NCAA Tournament.

Selection Monday will be on May 29 at 11 a.m. CT, airing on ESPN2.
