Texas Longhorns walk-off home run against Texas Tech.

The Texas Longhorns came into Sunday’s game with in-state rival Texas Tech with a 13-game winning streak, which is the highest in Division I college baseball. That win streak was in jeopardy, but an unreal walk-off home run miraculously kept it intact.

Texas came into the ninth inning with an 8-7 lead but quickly relinquished that in the top half of the inning with an RBI single from Texas Tech designated hitter Drew Woodcox.

The Longhorns needed to answer to avoid extra innings and did just that in a massive way. Longhorns catcher Garrett Guillemette led the inning off with a bang, hitting a walk-off home run to send the Texas fans home happy.

This caps off a wild weekend for Texas where they showed off a flair for the dramatic. They won the second game of the series on Saturday with a walk-off as well on a Texas Tech wild pitch.

Many took to social media to praise Garrett Guillemette for his timely home run on Sunday.

After starting the season 3-6, Texas has done a tremendous job of getting back on track with this win vaulting them to an 18-7 record. They will look to keep things rolling on Tuesday against Texas A&M.
