Baseball Recap: Tonopah's loss ends four-game winning streak on the road
After a string of six wins, Tonopah's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 22-12 to the Round Mountain Knights. Tonopah was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Round Mountain apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
Cricket treatment planning underway for Northern Nevada
The Nevada Department of Agriculture encourages the public to report cricket sightings to aid in population tracking and treatment planning. As of April 18, 220 reports were received from Washoe, Pershing, Churchill, Humboldt, Lander, Eureka, White Pine and Elko counties. Based on reported sightings and surveying of the area in 2023 and 2024, the NDA has submitted a proposal to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Plant Protection and Quarantine to protect 222,254 acres by aerial treatments.

The Eureka High School varsity baseball team lost both non-conference home games against Tonopah on April 20, 9-3 and 26-9. On April 23, the Vandals played Carlin High School in a home conference game and won, 22-3. This game put the Vandals first in the 1A Northern League. Next they play White Pine High School in a home game on Saturday, April 27.
