Fall Sports All-Aurora 2023: Overland’s Renner, Burke team on All-Aurora Gymnastics Team
The Overland co-op gymnastics team — which merges together athletes from all over the city — had its best result in a few years as a team in the 2023 season. Coach Lisa Sparrow’s Trailblazers capitalized on its ideal rotation at the Class 5A state meet at Thornton High School and finished in a tie with Broomfield second place in a tight competition behind winner Mountain Range.
Prestigious golf tournament plans move forward for 2024
Next August 20-25, 2024, Castle Pines, population 14,800, will host the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club and will see more than 25,000 visitors per day for events hosted by the PGA TOUR and Western Golf Association (WGA). It will be the BMW Championship’s first visit to Colorado since 2014, when Billy Horschel won at Cherry Hills Country Club.

Former ESPN PD Amanda Brown To Program Denver’s Fan
Bonneville Denver has appointed Amanda Brown as the new Program Director at 104.3 The Fan (KKFN). Brown succeeds Raj Sharan, who was in the role for four years. Brown brings her twenty years of experience at ESPN, most recently as the PD for ESPNLA 710 (KSPN), to the role. She begins her new role the week of December 4.
DU Women’s Lacrosse is In it to Win it All
Denver women’s Head lacrosse coach Liza Kelly and her team are all-in for a serious run at a national championship this spring. The team is returning four All-Americans along with experience across the board with the addition of some exceptional graduate transfers. The roster upgrades started soon after DU’s otherwise-perfect 17-0 last season ended on May 26, when DU finally fell to #1 Northwestern in Cary, North Carolina in the NCAA semifinals, the high water mark for DU’s history in the women’s game. Since that time, it has been clear that the program is doing everything in its power to return to Cary this spring to bring about a different result – a national title.
