Maine moose lottery to be held this weekend

AUGUSTA (WGME) -- This weekend is the annual moose lottery when those eager to hit the Maine woods this fall will find out whether they get a permit to hunt moose.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will announce the more than 4,000 individuals selected for the annual moose hunt.
The chances are very small, considering over 72,000 people applied for one.

The live reading of hunters selected starts at 2 p.m. at Mill Park in Augusta on Saturday.
